Welcome to Benton Fine Art.

This month we are delighted to announce our membership of BADA (the British Antique Dealers’ Association (www.bada.org). BADA was founded in 1918 and is the leading representative body for the antique dealers’ trade in the United Kingdom. They set the standard for trading in the antiques business and members of the public are assured of a highly professional service wherever the BADA logo is displayed. Every year over 100 dealers enquire about joining, however, usually fewer than 15 are successful.

Our first outing as a BADA member will be at this summer’s Olympia International Art and Antiques Fair, from 5th – 15th June. On show will be our usual selection of fine paintings and quality furniture. Of special interest is a wonderful horse portrait of ‘Cicero’ (Winner of the 1905 Derby) by Percy Earl. ‘Cicero’ was bred by Archibald Phillip Primrose, 5th Earl of Rosebery who was Prime Minister from March 1894 – June 1895. The painting comes in a fantastic original double swept gilt frame and is our current painting of the month.

We also have a number of superb genre and figurative paintings by artists such as Carl Spielter, Moritz Stifter and Jules Ballavoine. In addition to paintings, we will be exhibiting a carefully selected range of period furniture including a Chippendale period mahogany Library Table and a mahogany Sofa Table attributed to Gillows.
