Regency Mahogany Drum Table

A fine quality Regency mahogany Drum Table of good colour and excellent proportions. The circular revolving top having a cross banded mahogany edge and inset with gold tooled black leather. The frieze is fitted with four double cock beaded, mahogany lined drawers, two dummy drawers and two rare "pivoted" drawers around the circumference, all retaining their original turned wooden knobs. The table is supported on a ring turned baluster column supported by a circular platform decorated with a beaded border. The whole stands on four out swept legs carved with acanthus leaf knees and terminating in original brass caps and castors. A beautiful and substantial piece with excellent colour and original patination.  C1820.
