Regency Rosewood Bergère

An elegant Regency rosewood Bergère Library Chair in the manner of Gillows of Lancaster. The gently curved top rail with scrolled top lip sweeps gradually downwards to form arm rests with scrolled terminals, supported on curved and matching carved supports. The curved and caned inset back above u-shaped seat rails, with Bergère seating surface and a removable leather swab. Having down swept legs to the rear and turned and tapering front legs terminating in brass caps and castors. A beautifully shaped chair of excellent colour and original patination throughout. C1825.
